Bobbie W. Farris-Floyd, 77, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in Savannah.
Bobbie was born in Massachusetts on March 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Elmer and Louise Pike Waitt. After completing her formal education and earning a degree in Music she moved to Savannah where she had resided for over forty years. Bobbie had a passion for music using her proficiency in piano as a teacher for many years. She was a member of the Marine Recue Squad for over ten years recently earning the position of National Storekeeper. She was a longtime employee of Carey Hilliards Restaurants retiring as Corporate Office Manager after thirty dedicated years. Bobbie was a loyal member and Past Worthy Matron of Savannah Chapter #52, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Calvary in Savannah.
Bobbie is survived by her fiancé of 22 years, Thomas Cooler of Savannah. She and Tom were planning to be united in marriage on June 10th. She is also survived by her son, Jerome Farris and wife Tabatha of Guyton; four grandchildren; brother, Dick Waitt and sister, Jean McPheters, both of New Hampshire and sister, Gail Ericson of Arizona.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with burial following at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.

I was very shocked to find out today that Aunt Bobbie had passed away. She had a very special place in my heart. I will always have the wonderful memories of what she did for me as a child and as an adult. She was always so sweet and kind.
